Knitting for Gold in Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026
Our Team & Athletes...
Mrs Mac our biggest fan. Her favourite sport is bowling and will be booking her tickets as soon as they are released!
Beautiful Bella our Dancer who's dream is to be on the TV programme Strictly come Dancing. A gold medal would also be very nice!v
Suzie the Swimmer is an inspiration, and her story of training so hard her suit got too big is already legendary. We can't wait to see all the incredible things you'll accomplish, both in and out of the water.
Her idol, of course, is Simone Biles and Jessie the Gymnast has spent countless hours watching Simone’s routines. The Sherbrooke Yarn Stormers are her biggest support system, and will shout , "Tuck in your knees, hen!" during her routines. Jessie knows that with enough practice, and maybe a little less Irn Brew before a competition, she'll make Scotland proud.
Sam the Swimmer dreams of the Commonwealth Games, of standing on a podium with a shiny medal hanging from his neck. He takes a deep breath, the yarn of his chest expanding, and dives into the water, ready to chase his dream, one stitch at a time.
Henrietta the Hurdler is in top form and has been tirelessly practicing her leaps. Her woolly muscles are taut, her stitched-on smile is full of grit, and she's ready to take on the world. The team is confident that this knitted athlete will not only clear every obstacle but also look absolutely fabulous doing it. We're all looking forward to seeing her dominate the event at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow!
